How To Build Your Business From The Very Start

Now we all come up with ideas in our heads where we think if that was real, I’d definitely buy it!

But realistically, it’s much more complicated than just having a great idea. In this video, we’ll be giving you some tips to help your business succeed.

You want to address excuses. Countless people think about becoming an entrepreneur but many few actually do because they’re scared about failing.

But the first thing you should learn as a business owner is that failure is common among all owners. If an owner tells you that they’ve become a success with no failures then they’re lying or incredibly lucky.

We get it, it can be scary kickstarting something where realistically you don’t know where it’ll head. But excuses only get in the way of reaching your goals so if you really want to start a business, start planning today, keep your potential issues in mind but if starting a business is what you really want to do, then do it.

When you’re first starting out, you want to try and absorb as much information as possible. Learn about every aspect of the industry and get the opinions of people in the industry. Be like a sponge!

The experts know exactly what works and what doesn’t within an industry so you can learn from the mistakes that other business owners have made.

You want to be a solution to your customer’s problems or issues. Rather than starting your idea with what to sell, think about what it will solve.

It’s easier generating a customer base when your business is fixing a problem so your startup should fill a hole within a certain market or niche.

Home in on why you’re opening your own business and understand your motives so you can create a brand and understand where your company fits in the market.

Keep it simple. Make sure that your concept doesn’t end up snowballing into something overcomplicated, understand your key selling points and don’t try and do everything.

If you do, then you could end up with an expensive, elaborate end-product that nobody wants to buy.

As a new business owner, you should try and start small and narrow your focus so you can create a product or service that fulfils and excels customer expectations.

You don’t need all the bells and whistles on that the bigger corporations are adding, it’s easier to add to your business as it grows than take away.

That’s it for this week, thanks for watching, I’ve been Becca from Passport 2 Success, the platform built by industry experts designed to help, support, advise and guide small businesses and entrepreneurs to success and we’ll see you in our next video.
