Eight New Solicitors Celebrate Qualifications At Slater And Gordon

Eight new solicitors who qualified in Slater and Gordon’s ‘Class of 2019’ have accepted permanent positions at the firm.

The cohort, who recently completed their training contracts, will take up newly-qualified roles in their chosen specialisms which include employment law, clinical negligence and road traffic defence.

All started their careers at Slater and Gordon which only offers training contracts to internal candidates as part of its commitment to nurturing talent from within.

Among the group are Benjamin Wells and Elizabeth Morrice who joined the firm’s Manchester office as members of the Legal Advice Team, which offers round-the-clock legal support and expertise to its subscribers via a helpline manned 24/7.

Both have university degrees and a legal practice destination but, like many other graduates, they struggled to land a sought-after training contract straight away.

Benjamin said: “As someone who was just starting out the experience I gained was invaluable. You’re dealing with real-life legal enquiries and were often able to resolve them there and then which was great for the client and really boosted my confidence.”

Elizabeth said: “It was fantastic experience giving us a real breadth of knowledge about the firm and the different services we offer. This was really useful in helping us to decide which area we wanted to choose as our specialism.

“I’ve had fantastic support along the way, I really felt that the firm was invested in us and our future.”

Terri Kelly, Pamela Dick, Firdous Patel, Annie Lau, Dannielle Hart and Sarah Griffiths make up the newly-qualified group staying at Slater and Gordon.
