Habits are normally something you do every day without realising you’re even doing them, they’re just implanted into your day-to-day life and become a struggle if you’re trying to give them up.
In this article, we will look at a few habits that you can transfer from your normal, everyday routine, to improving your performance at work.
Get to work a little early
Arriving as the clock strikes 9 is not good for you, it starts your day off in a panic and you’re always in fear that a slight disruption in your commute will ruin your day. To reduce the panic, give yourself a little more time in the morning. Does it normally take you 15 minutes in the shower? Then allow yourself 20. Does your commute normally take 30 minutes? Then give yourself 45. Just adding these little extra buffers allows for a more relaxed journey going to and from work.
Arrange your workspace
When arriving at work, make sure that your workspace is relatively clean. Even doing this will cut down time searching for things that you might need throughout the day that are usually somewhere on your desk. This will prepare you for the day ahead and give you a clear head before you start working.
Take notes
Taking notes reduce the chance of forgetting something important and potentially losing out in sales and revenue. Make sure that your notes are organised and checked constantly through the working day to make sure they make sense. Further to this, it allows you to keep track of new ideas or solutions that come to you throughout the day.
Get enough sleep
By not getting enough sleep, this can impact your performance at work drastically. The perfect amount of sleep you should be trying to get is between 7 and 8 hours. Anything over or under these times can be bad on your performance throughout the day.
