Writing a company blog can increase your exposure whilst attracting new customers to your business. Here’s how to get the most out of your company blog.
Now I have a question for you, are you writing a blog? Blogs are a great way to provide informative content for your customers and target audience whilst improving your businesses exposure. It’s a great way of getting in front of potential customers and rise in the Google rankings. But you need to ensure that you’re doing it right.
A lot of people think that they need to be a great writer to be a blogger, but nothing could be further from the truth! People read blogs to get a perspective on things and to inform themselves on areas they’re interested in.
In this video, we’ll give you a few tips to improve your blog.
Quality not quantity
Search engines love content, the more quality content you have for your readers the higher you’ll be in the rankings. But it’s not all about quantity, you have to ensure that you’re giving your readers quality content that they actually find informative and useful.
If you don’t then the readers will most likely go elsewhere. They’re reading your blog for a reason, so make sure that you give them the information they need to encourage them to continue reading.
Blog consistently
You have to ensure that once you start posting content for your readers, that you post on a consistent basis. Don’t post every day for a week, then leave it for a full month, your blogs will go stale and your readers will go elsewhere if they’re not consistent.
Again, we’re not saying you have to post every day, you should create a schedule and try and stick to it. You need to ensure that your blog is consistently updated to ensure that your readers return.
Address customer questions
This is a goldmine of a blog topic that comes from your customers. Remember you’re creating a blog for them so when your being asked the same questions by multiple customers, it might be time to try and address them and what better way to do so than through a blog.
By creating a blog around these questions you’re killing two birds with one stone. Not only are you answering those burning common questions that your customers are asking, but it helps you come up with actionable content that can engage others with simple questions.
Invite guest contributors
Sometimes a bit of a change can be nice for your blog, it can freshen it up and re-engage customers who may have lost interest, which is why every once in a while, you should invite a guest contributor to write some content.
Having a fresh outlook on topics that relate to your business can be enlightening and you and your customers could gain a new perspective on something.
Add visuals
By adding images or even videos into your content it helps the viewers engage with the page.
For many of us, our attention span can be incredibly short, especially if you’re reading an article and there’s nothing that interests you within the first ten seconds of reading. Readers absorb a lot more information if visuals are paired with writing.
You may want to consider using appropriate images like infographics or charts that can highlight your key points from the article. This can help increase the time spent on your blog page and be much easier for the readers to remember the content.
