Leeds Print Company Launches In The US

The Leeds-based print company, Awesome Merchandise officially launched their US operations at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin Texas, using the citywide event as a springboard to push their brand out to the music, arts and tech companies.

The team produced over 62,000 pieces of print and merchandise for UK bands, brands, promoters, graphic artists, illustrators, record labels etc. all visiting for SXSW festival in March in search of expanding their horizons and promoting themselves to the USA.

 “SXSW is an incredible opportunity for the music, arts and tech communities in the UK to come to the US and show them what we are capable of.” States Managing Director, James Lyall.

“For us to be able to help these people is a real buzz, as well as hard launching and activating our brand in the US too. A lot of these customers have also been longtime customers of ours in the UK, so to be able to seamlessly help in the US market makes total sense for us and them. Our team in the US and UK have been fantastic, so its a credit to them for getting everything together for the festival and all our customers”

The company were active at a number of events and sponsored various showcases at venues such as British Music Embassy, Mohawk, Cheer Up Charlies and internationally acclaimed poster art show, Flatstock.

Awesome Merchandise was founded back in 2005 in Leeds and has since grown to over 100 team members at their Leeds site, turning over £7 million in 2018 and producing over 12 million individual items from their factory last year. They were recently named one of Yorkshire’s fastest growing businesses for the second year in a row.

In 2018, they set up a 20,000 sq ft factory in Austin, Texas in 2018, soft launching their services and website to the US market in January this year.
