Carter Towler has just concluded three purchases in LS2 close to the university, Leeds General Infirmary and the city centre on behalf of its client, Yorkshire Prosperity Limited (YPL). The Leeds-based student property company has recently just purchased Malham House, 25-27 Hyde Terrace and late last year Southfield House, Clarendon Road and Springfield Mount, 19 Springfield Road.
10,933 sq ft Malham House was purchased off a guide price of £1,125,000; 5891 sq ft Southfield House was purchased off a guide price of £650,000 and 9,653 Springfield Mount off a guide price of £1,050,000. All three of these properties were bought with vacant possession.
David Towler, the Director of Carter Lowler said:
“I am so thrilled that we were successful for our client. We had to move swiftly and decisively to conclude these purchases; there was a lot of competition. These substantial properties, two of which are detached and Grade II listed, represent a significant investment for YPL who are widely regarded as the leading provider of student accommodation in the region. Whilst all three are ideal for conversion, both Malham House and Springfield Mount offer further development opportunities.
“It is also pleasing to see YPL acquiring properties in this area of the city again as this is where we first assisted them with establishing their property portfolio in the city 10 years ago.”
Carter Towler is one of the largest independent firms of property consultants in the North and is acknowledged as one of the most commercially active. Within the past 12 months, it has been involved in over 300 deals and currently manages in access to 3,000 properties.
